Prayer & Worship Commission
St. Gabriel Parish’s Prayer & Worship Commission nourishes and gives direction to the liturgical and communal prayer life of the community. The members collaborate with the pastor and staff in this area of mission on liturgy preparation, the training and formation of the various liturgical ministers, and the formation of the assembly about the sacraments and liturgy. The commission may have committees, such as environment, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist, greeters, and lectors.
Special areas of this commission’s focus are:
- Eucharistic adoration
- Environment & decorations
- Special Masses throughout the liturgical year, like the Mass of Remembrance, Anointing of the Sick, and the Blessing of the Animals
- Christian Women Group
- Reconciliation services
- Scripture studies and education
This commission meets monthly on the second Monday of each month. Training and enrichment evenings are held at the parish on a regular basis for all liturgical ministries. The Prayer & Worship Commission meets monthly from September through May.
YOUR GIFT OF TIME: one monthly meeting, 1 hour in length, special projects as needed.
